Kim Stuart is a BA Photography Graduate from Leeds Arts University (LAU). Specialising in mixed media photography, Kim combines photography with a variety of techniques such as embroidery, drawing and collage to create her work. After studying Photography for the last 5 years, Kim found a therapeutic approach to mixed media art, using techniques such as embroidery to harness emotions into a physical outcome. Throughout her time at LAU, she has combined textures such as layering, stitching, and digital collage to transform her work from just being a photograph into something more.

Kim on Beyond Photography: Since starting at Leeds Arts University, I have begun using photography and mixed media to produce bodies of work that are more than a photograph; they become an object. Using the mixed media to showcase this, I produce work that goes beyond the simplicity of photography by making what should be a standard framed photograph into an object of interactivity.
